Passive House
Infrared heating is an electric radiant heating system that warms people, floors, walls and furniture directly using long-wave infrared energy rather than heating the air first. When correctly designed, it can provide whole-home heating, improve comfort and work efficiently with solar PV and smart controls.
iHelios Living Reinvented manufactures, designs and installs infrared heating systems for homes, developers, garden rooms and commercial buildings. Our invisible heating film can be installed within ceilings or floors to create comfortable, radiator-free spaces with smart room-by-room control.

Carbon Heating Film.
iHelios carbon infrared heating film is designed for invisible underfloor and ceiling heating in UK homes and buildings. The system combines electric radiant heating with independent room controls, smart scheduling and app connectivity, allowing each heating zone to operate according to occupancy and temperature requirements.
Systems can be designed as primary heating where the calculated room heat loss and available film output allow, or used for individual rooms, extensions, garden buildings and retrofit projects.
Imagine two rooms side by side, each using a different heating system. In the first room, iHelios Carbon heating film is installed in the ceiling, radiating warmth directly onto people and objects. The warmth feels like standing in sunlight, where everything in the room heats up evenly without affecting the air.
In the second room, conventional heating uses radiators. Warm air rises to the ceiling, creating a noticeable temperature difference between higher and lower parts of the room. Dust particles swirl as the air circulates, while the heat takes longer to reach the occupants.
This visual contrast emphasizes the efficient, targeted warmth of infrared heating compared to the slower, less consistent heat provided by convectional systems.
Running costs depend on three main factors:
Infrared heating does not heat air continuously like radiators. Instead, it warms surfaces and people directly, allowing rooms to feel comfortable at slightly lower thermostat settings.
In well-insulated homes, this often means shorter daily run times compared to traditional electric radiators.
iHelios infrared heating film is independently tested to EN 60335-2-96, the European safety standard applicable to flexible sheet heating elements, and meets relevant UKCA and CE requirements for UK and EU installations.

Heating films (often called infrared heating films) are ultra-thin electric heating sheets made from layers of plastic film with a conductive carbon element inside. When electricity passes through the film, it gently warms up and emits infrared heat.
